Through your attention to detail and curiosity, I learned so much about our charity as a whole: how it looks from the outside and how our stories can be improved.  Lonny Chen, Kinara for Youth Evolution, Tanzania

Cath came in to lead a critical piece of work for us, reviewing and improving our processes around how we gather and manage stories from the people we support. These are the lifeblood of our communications work, and Cath’s attention to detail and thorough approach to the review meant that we had a comprehensive and detailed report, backed with strong new processes in place, and recommendations for how we can continue to build on Cath’s work.

Cath was professional and committed throughout, and built relationships with a variety of teams and stakeholders. The work she implemented was robust and ensured we meet all expectations of how we handle case study data; but also took a great amount of care to ensure that these processes were usable and straightforward to embed. She was also a very supportive member of the team and a pleasure to work with.  Kate Jones, Head of Media & PR, Macmillan Cancer Support

Cath has run workshops on interviewing and writing case studies for several years at the Charity Writing and Writing and Communications Training Days. She is an excellent speaker, and out of 30+ speakers at the event, her sessions are always among the highest rated.
Jennifer Campbell, Event Manager, Directory of Social Change

We asked Cath to come in and lead an assessment of our current approach, understanding our needs and recommending a step change and strategic approach to our storytelling, backed up by practical tools and guidance. Cath had to hit the ground running, assessing needs, identifying issues , challenges and opportunities and establishing relationships.

Cath had an immediate sense of the needs and priorities for this project, developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and involving them to develop clear and practical solutions. She raised internal understanding and awareness of what good storytelling looks like at all levels of the organisation, whilst also ensuring all solutions complied with GDPR requirements that were coming into force. Her knowledge and experience has been invaluable in building solid foundations for a comprehensive and organisational-wide approach to storytelling that not only meets legal and regulatory requirements and will enable teams to work together, but will also ensure we’re in better position to empower and support the Parkinson’s community to share their experiences.
Ruwani Purcell, Head of Media and PR, Parkinson’s UK

Cath is a highly experienced and skilled writer, editor and case study manager who brings passion and commitment to any project. She has worked with Marie Curie on a number of successful projects, including creating and establishing new policies and processes for handling case studies and supporting major campaigns by sourcing and managing varied high-impact case studies to tight deadlines. Cath develops a good understanding of the needs of different departments or stakeholders and understands the whole range of communications channels and how to support them effectively.
Charles Williams, Content Manager, Marie Curie

Cath is a very conscientious and hard working individual. She led the development of case studies across the NSPCC for many years, resulting in some fantastically powerful stories for us to share. Cath’s work was, at times, truly leading the way in the sector and she passionately shared her knowledge with those in NSPCC and beyond.
Alice Payne, Strategic Business Manager, NSPCC

I have known Cath Drake for some years through her science journalism activities. Cath works competently, with intelligence and candour, with strong skills in distilling in plain language the essence of scientific discoveries and technical investigations. She is hard-working, good-humoured and able to follow through to completion difficult projects.
Dr Steve Hopper, ex-CEO of Perth’s Botanic Gardens/ Director of Kew Gardens

Cath Drake provided a wonderful workshop for the Off the Shelf Festival – well organised, excellently led and inspirational. We had really positive feedback from all participants.
Lesley Webster, Off the Shelf Festival of Writing and Reading, Sheffield

Cath’s skills in production, presentation and overall journalism have seen her develop many award-winning programmes… These skills have also forged the basis of RTR’s continual training programme… For loyality and the ability to adapt I can highly recommend Cath.
Bradley Scott, Manager, radio station RTR FM, Western Australia

Cath showed herself to be a most competent researcher and writer, displaying considerable skill in structuring written material and great insight into the subject area… she obtained findings beyond the original perceived scope of the project, producing a published report… which is very much the standard of its kind.
Luke Pen, Water and Rivers Commission, Western Australia
